Designer Sherb is one of the latest new strains to hit the Pure Sativa lineup, and it's safe to say that this one will be special.
The Cookies Fam Sunset Sherbet has quickly gained its place as a timeless classic as far as terp profiles go, and rightly so. After first hitting the scene around a decade ago, it was clear at the very first smell that she was a special lady in her own league entirely, making shockwaves in the industry due to its complex, multi-layered profile. The Grounded Genetics team can still remember the first time that they encountered the tantalising combination of creamy, sugary candy and a rich, creamy gassy flavour in one plant. Finally, after years of consuming Sunset Sherbert, Grounded Genetics, they were able to secure a cut of this prestigious cultivar. Sunset Sherbet is the product of Flux and the cookie crew, who take credit for first introducing the cultivar to Grounded Genetics, and the strain has long proven its value to make global waves on her own and when utilised in breeding projects, and as such is deeply regarded as one of the kep building blocks in the exotic strains cannabis gene pools.
This legendary strain has been dusted with some Runtz pollen from the reversed plant, and the progeny is hugely offensive. The flowering traits of the plant typically produce extremely dense and vibrant buds that shine like diamonds when put under direct light, thanks to the thick coating of massive, greasy resin glands. In addition, the sweet candied, Runtz terpene profile is a recessive terp profile in this cross; consequently, this leads to its prominence in most phenotypes found. Extensive testing has revealed that the Runtz dominant phenotypes will lead to highly resinous buds with bright pink and purple hues and rounded golf-ball-sized flowers with the notable swollen calyx trait typical in the Runtz.
The odour and terp profile is where this strain really shines, with the Runtz leaning phenos tending to expressing a tantalising candy gas terp profile with potent gaseous undertones and great resin production. Contrastingly, the Sherb leaning phenotypes form larger, denser flowers with a mouth watering mix of tropical candy and creamy gas and bubble bath terps on the nose.
Generally, the progeny do not stretch much and will grow to a medium height with an average yield. The bud structure is rock solid and relatively uniform throughout the progeny with the usual ideal harvest window sitting between 8.5 and 9 weeks.
